A single wireless probe for pile integrity testing and impact-echo thickness and defect checks on concrete.
The PI8000 is an impact-echo and pile-integrity instrument. It is not a phased-array ultrasonic system. Screening Eagle describes it as one probe and app for concrete pile testing, concrete slab testing, thickness measurement, and defect detection.
For piles, it uses low-strain pile integrity testing to check quality, estimate length, and flag major defects early. For walls and slabs, impact echo checks thickness and looks for internal defects such as voids or delamination. Screening Eagle’s published range is a maximum impact-echo thickness of about 60 to 80 cm, depending on concrete quality and the impactor, and a pile length-to-diameter ratio of about 30 to 60, depending on the soil.
The probe is wireless. The app compares piles on one site, tags defects or objects, keeps a logbook, and can apply filter settings across piles of the same type. Smart Scanning rents and sells the PI8000 for bridge, building, and foundation work.
